Haden Vale Medical Practice has collaborated with 11 other local GP surgeries to become the new Black Country GP Hub which is based at Portway Family Practice, Newbury Lane, Oldbury. B69 1HE.

This service will be offered to ALL patients registered at the 12 practices and NOT just our patients at Haden Vale Medical Practice.

Patients will be able to book an appointment within this service via telephone or at Haden Vale Medical Practice reception during surgery hours. Appointments will be available for the Doctor, Practice Nurse, Health Care Assistant as well as Clinical Pharmacists, Social Prescribers and ANPs. Appointments will be available to pre-book and for on the day.

All 12 practices provide staff to help with the running of the extended access service, so don’t be surprised if you don’t see Haden Vale Medical Practice members of staff when you visit the surgery.

Monday – Friday6:30pm – 8:00pm
Saturday9:00am – 5:00pm

Contact Number

The contact number for the extended access service is 0121 612 3422, this number will only be available to take calls during the opening hours as stated above. At all other times you will be required to contact Haden Vale Medical Practice to amend/cancel your extended access appointment.

Please note staff at the extended access will not be able to deal with repeat prescriptions, queries, test results, sick notes and private requests. You will need to contact the surgery during normal hours regarding them.

Private Medical Reports / Requests

We can provide a range of non NHS services such as pre-employment medicals for HGV, PCV, taxi etc.

When booking the appointment, it is important that you explain to the receptionist that it is for such an examination, as more time is needed than for a routine appointment.

Phlebotomy

This service is now provided at Rowley Regis Hospital, Moor Lane, Rowley Regis, West Midlands, B65 8DA.

We can send your blood test forms directly to this department, to book an appointment you can call them on 0121 507 6104 or email swbh.phlebotomy@nhs.net (please state your name, date of birth, and NHS number with your preferred date and time). 

Minor Surgery

Joint Injections

Dr. Muthuveloe carries out joint injections.  If you feel that you may benefit from this service then please book a routine telephone consultation with any of our Doctors and they will add you to our waiting list.

These appointments are usually carried out on a Thursday afternoon.

Travel Vaccinations

Please fill in a Travel Health Questionnaire (minimum 6 Weeks) prior to travelling abroad for the nurse to assess your travel advice and vaccination requirements. Reception staff will book an appointment once your for as been checked with the nurse.

Menopause / HRT Clinic

Book a routine appointment with Sara our ANP for further information.

Family Planning

Sara our ANP can offer contraceptive advice and pill prescriptions etc.

Well Persons Clinic

As well as looking after our patients with a long term condition we are here to advise all our patients on a variety of health related problems:

  • weight management
  • stop smoking clinic
  • blood pressure checks
  • counselling services

Well Woman Clinic & Smears

Screening is offered to all women aged 24.5years and 64years.  Women aged 24.5years will received their first invitation by post to ensure they can be screened before they are aged 25 years.

  • 25 years – 49 years should be offered screening every 3 years. 
  • 50 years – 64 years should be offered screening every 5 years.

If a previous result was abnormal you may be called in sooner.

Learning Disability Health Checks

Our patients are recalled by the surgery for an annual health check according to your birth month.
